She is the latest Indian-American to be selected by the Biden administration for a critical role.<br><br>According to a tweet from the US Senate Periodical Press Gallery on Tuesday, Radha Iyengar Plumb was approved by the Senate to serve as the Deputy Under Secretary of Defence by a vote of 68 to 30.&nbsp;In June 2022, President Joe Biden proposed the appointment of Radha Iyengar Plumb, who is presently the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary of Defence.<br><br>She formerly held the position of Global Head of Policy Analysis at Facebook and was the Director of Research and Insights for Trust and Safety at Google before being named the Chief of Staff.<br><br>She was also the Senior Economist at the RAND Corporation, where she worked to enhance the assessment and evaluation of security initiatives throughout the Department of Defence.<br><br>At the Department of Defence, the Department of Energy, and the White House National Security Council, she also held a variety of top staff posts on matters of national security.<br>?<br></p><span></div>
